Both CO2 and diode lasers are compatible. We recommend Laser powers above 20 watts, for better results, and for hat patches the RF tube is the best for precision and details.
Our recommended cleaner is a 60 to 40% ratio of LA awesome cleaner/degreaser to water. Lighty spray and wipe with a microfiber towel. Stay away from harsh alcohol cleaners as they may damage the top layer surface or dull the patches fiber engraved surface layer
We primarily use a premium solid foam backing material for our sheets. In our testing against other competitors who use primarily double fiber layer backing, we found that the cutting results were not as solid as the foam backing, and rigid stability was lacking in a fiber only backed layer. In our patch pull test, we found that the fiber only backing style, peeled off more consistantly than our premium solid sponge style backing, which had a better bond to the hat.
When it comes to leatherette types and colors they all can vary on different lasers, so for the best optimized results we recommend creating a material test in lightburn software to find the best results based on color, lines per inch, power, and speed, see this VIDEO for more info
