Laserhyde Deluxe™ Wheat Buckskin Leatherette Sheets feature a top-quality satin matte finish with a semi-smooth, leather-style texture for a clean, premium look. Designed for both laser engraving and UV printing, these leatherette sheets deliver bold results with excellent flexibility and durability.

Each sheet with adhesive features our strong, industry-leading low-temperature thermoplastic poly adhesive, making it an excellent choice for heat-sensitive materials such as polyester fabrics and acrylic panels. Laserhyde Deluxe leatherette is engineered for water resistance and built with reinforced bonded layers for added strength while still remaining highly flexible.

ABOUT LASERHYDE™ DELUXE ADHESIVE

LaserHyde was created to be a water-resistant adhesive, with a two-sided thermoplastic film that bonds extremely well to soft and hard textiles. It’s safe for dry cleaning and can handle wash temperatures up to 60℃. With its low melting point, it prevents damage to sensitive performance fabrics, and acrylic or plastic panel sheets. LaserHyde works on a variety of materials, including apparel clothing, beanies, footwear, leather, embroidery, twill, wood, veneer, plastics, acrylics and more, with bonding temperatures varying by material. It was thoroughly tested and engineered to be the perfect adhesive for hat patches.

heat press instructions

Upper platen heat 230F

Lower platen heat 275F

“Make sure your heating element doesn’t have any  heating inaccuracies.”

All heat presses may vary so dial in your settings beforehand for best results.

Pre press your hat for 7 seconds to eliminate any moisture and to loosen up the material, Make sure to mold the hat shape to the platen, you should have no bubbles between the hat and platen it should feel flat to the platen surface.

Peel the paper backing off patch and place the patch on the hat. Some patches may or may not come with a paper backing. The lower heat and pre press should help this patch stay in place slightly. Hold the patch down for 10-15 seconds to melt adhesive a bit, then, Press patch for 35-40 seconds using the Esentl Hat Mat silicone pad which is highly recommended, so that you don’t scorch your hats. Always preheat  your silicone pad first for best results, and through the process, keep it warm. 

All patches and finished products are hand wash recommended, but when using LaserHyde water resistant adhesive you can wash or dry clean this product up to 55C (130F)

You can use a light spraying of LA Awesome cleaner to clean any residue on your leatherette patches

For all other hat presses here are some jumping off point setting you can use. As always practice on your machine to dial in your settings as they will vary from machine to machine

Instructions:
Pre-heat your lower platen for 50-60 seconds. Add your hat and pre-heat for 20 seconds (using your silicone pad, prevents scorching and or burn marks). Make sure to mold the hat shape to the platen, you should have no gaps between the hat and the platen, it should be flat to the platen surface. Add patch and Cover with The Hat Mat Silicone flex pad and press.

important tips

  • Always use a silicone pad for best results. we do not recommend any foam pads, as the pressure is not as good using those. for post ( preheat ) press use only a silicone pad as well (recommended), use our see our silicone hat mat for best results 
  • Always Check your patches before hat placement. 
  • Always check your upper heat press platen with a laser temperature gun to ensure accurate temps, before applying GripTec adhesive to your leatherette sheets
  • Store your patches or leatherette sheets in a cool dry place.
  • Lint roll your hats prior to patch placement.
  • keep your adhesive backing free of dust, use a water based wipe to clean any dust off
  • All our tests are done using a Stahls Hotronix 360 IQ Hat press, your settings may vary for any other style leatherette and adhesive or hat press. For Patches upper and lower heat is recommended, which is why we use the 360 IQ.
  • Always order a few extra sheets of leatherette, to dial in your laser engraving and cut settings
