Laserhyde Deluxe™ Neon Yellow Leatherette Sheets feature a smooth matte surface and a super-bright highlighter color palette. Their PVC-style, silicone-like finish creates a bold appearance while delivering clean, high-contrast engraving results. Designed for laser engraving and UV printing, the sheets offer excellent flexibility, vibrant color, and lasting durability.

Sheets ordered with adhesive include our strong, low-temperature thermoplastic poly film adhesive. It creates a reliable bond while helping protect heat-sensitive materials such as polyester fabrics, acrylic panels, and plastic sheets.

Laserhyde™ Adhesive is an OEKO–TEX® Standard 100 certified, water-resistant, two-sided thermoplastic adhesive designed to bond to both soft and hard materials. Its low melting point helps protect heat-sensitive fabrics, performance materials, and acrylic sheets while still delivering strong, reliable adhesion.

Laserhyde Adhesive is safe for dry cleaning and wash temperatures up to 60°C and works well with apparel, beanies, footwear, leather, wood, plastics, acrylics, and more. Bonding temperatures will vary depending on the material.

heat press instructions

Upper platen heat 230F

Lower platen heat 275F

“Make sure your heating element doesn’t have any heating inaccuracies.”

All heat presses may vary, so dial in your settings beforehand for best results.

Pre press your hat for 7 seconds to eliminate any moisture and to loosen up the material, Make sure to mold the hat shape to the platen, you should have no bubbles between the hat and platen it should feel flat to the platen surface.

Peel the paper backing off patch and place the patch on the hat. Some patches may or may not come with a paper backing. The lower heat and pre press should help this patch stay in place slightly. Hold the patch down for 10-15 seconds to melt adhesive and grip the patch to hat, then, Press patch for 35-40 seconds using our Laserhyde Silicone Pad Hat Mat which is highly recommended, to reduce or eliminate scorching your hats. Always preheat your silicone pad before, for best results, and through the process, keep it warm. 

All patches and finished products are hand wash recommended, but when using Laserhyde water resistant adhesive you can wash or dry clean this product up to 60C (140F)

You can use a light spraying of LA Awesome cleaner to clean any residue on your leatherette patches

For all other hat presses here are some jumping off point setting you can use. As always practice on your machine to dial in your settings as they will vary from machine to machine

Instructions:
Pre-heat your lower platen for 50-60 seconds. Add your hat and pre-heat for 20 seconds (using your silicone pad, prevents scorching and or burn marks). Make sure to mold the hat shape to the platen, you should have no gaps between the hat and the platen, it should be flat to the platen surface. Add patch and Cover with The Laserhyde Hat Mat Silicone pad and press.

  • Always use a silicone pad for best results. We do not recommend foam pads because they may create uneven pressure and require higher heat. For best results, use our Laserhyde Silicone Hat Mat.
  • Always Check your patches before hat placement. 
  • Always check your upper heat press platen with a laser temperature gun to ensure accurate temps, before applying Laserhyde adhesive to your leatherette sheets
  • Store your patches or leatherette sheets in a cool dry place.
  • Lint roll your hats prior to patch placement.
  • keep your adhesive backing free of dust, use a water based wipe to clean any dust off
  • All our tests are done using a Stahls Hotronix 360 IQ Hat press, your settings may vary for any other style leatherette and adhesive or hat press. For Patches upper and lower heat is recommended, which is why we use the 360 IQ.
  • Always order a few extra sheets of leatherette, to dial in your laser engraving and cut settings

Yes. Laserhyde leatherette and adhesive materials are specifically tested for professional hat patch makers using heat press applications.

Yes, all Laserhyde leatherette and adhesive  materials are laser safe and offer a Oeko-Tex 100 safety standard certification

Both CO2 and diode lasers are compatible. For best results, we recommend laser systems above 20 watts. For detailed hat patches, RF tube lasers can provide excellent precision and cleaner fine details.

Our recommended cleaner is a 60 to 40% ratio of LA awesome cleaner/degreaser to water. Lightly spray and wipe with a microfiber towel. Avoid harsh alcohol-based cleaners, as they may damage the top surface or dull the engraved fiber layer.

We primarily use a premium solid foam backing material for our sheets. In our testing against other competitors who use primarily double fiber layer backing, we found that the cutting results were not as solid as the foam backing, and rigid stability was lacking in a fiber only backed layer. In our patch pull test, we found that the fiber only backing style, peeled off more consistently than our premium solid sponge style backing, which had a better bond to the hat.

When it comes to leatherette types and colors they all can vary on different lasers, so for the best optimized results we recommend creating a material test in lightburn software to find the best results based on color, lines per inch, power, and speed, see this VIDEO for more info
