ABOUT LASERHYDE™ DELUXE ADHESIVE

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certified Safe Adhesive

Laserhyde adhesive is a water-resistant, two-sided thermoplastic adhesive that bonds well to soft and hard textiles. It’s safe for dry cleaning and can handle wash temperatures up to 60℃. With a low melting point, it prevents damage to sensitive and performance fabrics, and acrylics sheets. Laserhyde works on a variety of materials, including apparel, beanies, footwear, leather, wood, plastics, acrylics and more, with bonding temperatures varying by material.

IMPORTANT ARTWORK INSTRUCTIONS

* For laser engraving, the artwork preferred is a transparent background with solid black svg vector graphic.
* The black color represents the area to be engraved, and the transparency area will represents the patch color to be shown.
* Files excepted: svg,ai,pdf,png
all png files will be traced as is!
(convert all fonts to curves)

HOW TO SETUP YOUR ARTWORK

Heat Press Instructions

Upper platen heat 235-245F

Lower platen heat 275-280F

“Make sure your heating element doesn’t have any  heating inaccuracies.”

All heat presses may vary so dial in your settings beforehand for best results.

Pre press your hat for 7 seconds to eliminate any moisture and to loosen up the material, Make sure to mold the hat shape to the platen, you should have no bubbles between the hat and platen it should feel flat to the platen surface.

Peel the paper backing off the patch and place the patch on the hat. The adhesive will be smooth the touch not tacky. Hold the patch in place on the hat for a few seconds to heat it up and tack in place. this should help the patch stay in place.  Press patch for 15-20 seconds …. If you are using the Hat Mat silicone pad which is highly recommended, so you don’t scorch your hats, double the dwell time to 35-40 seconds, or whatever time works best for your machine setup. Always preheat  your silicone pad first for best results.

All Patches and hats are Hand Wash Only!

You can use LA Awesome diluted to 50/50 or any natural non abrasive cleaning products to clean any residue on your patches

For all other hat presses here are some jumping off point setting you can use. As always practice on your machine to dial in your settings as they will vary from machine to machine

Instructions:
Pre-heat your lower platen for 50-60 seconds  first. Add your hat and pre-heat for 14 seconds (using the silicone hat mat, this helps prevents scorching and or burn marks). Make sure to mold the hat shape to the platen, you should have no gaps between the hat and the platen, it should be flat, to the platens surface. Add your patch and cover with the Silicone hat mat and press for 50-60 seconds
**disclaimer:
Every machine is different so please due your due diligence and test your settings for best results, before final applications. these are jump off settings and its up to you to figure out what works best for you.

important tips

  • Always use a silicone pad for best results or your 1/8″ foam pad for pre, and main, press, (adjust time and temp if using the foam pad) for post press use only a silicone pad (recommended)
  • Check your patches before placement.
  • Always check your heat press platen with a laser temperature  gun to ensure accurate temps.
  • Store your patches in a cool dry place.
  • Lint roll your hats prior to placement.
  • All tests are done using a Stahls Hotronix 360 IQ Hat press, your settings may vary for any other style hat press. For Patches upper and lower heat is recommended, which is why we use the 360 IQ.
  • Always order a few extra patches as well practice with other hats first to dial in your hat heat press settings
